John Guest shut-off valves are made of white polypropylene (PP) and are equipped with food-safe EPDM O-rings. They have been developed in accordance with the food guidelines for use with drinking water. If you use other drinkable liquids, please contact us.

The shut-off valves are not suitable for compressed air, explosive gases, petroleum or other liquids as well as in heating systems or similar areas of application.

Important note on using the JG shut-off valves and service valves

The JG shut-off valves have been developed to enable the temporary maintenance of downstream components / assemblies. They may only be used in the "completely closed" or "completely open" settings.

The shut-off valves must not be used as follows:

as flow control (only partially open)
as a permanent pipe end (here we recommend using our end caps.)
only connected on one side
as a tap or faucet
