Notes on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we, as a retailer, are obliged to inform you of the following under battery legislation:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally required to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of correctly. However, batteries also contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled.
You can return used batteries to us or drop them off at designated collection points (such as retail stores or local collection sites) free of charge. The return of batteries at sales outlets is limited to household quantities and is only for those batteries that we sell or have sold as new batteries.
Batteries containing harmful substances are marked with a symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. Below this symbol is the chemical designation of the harmful substance:
"Cd" stands for cadmium,
"Pb" for lead, and
"Hg" for mercury.
Please follow these instructions for environmentally friendly disposal and help us protect the environment!
